Come to Spring Fling

“So he came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near, for through him both of us have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then, you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone, in him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God.” Ephesians 2:17-22

“Let love be genuine; hate what is evil; hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal; be ardent in spirit; serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; pursue hospitality to strangers. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another…” Romans 12:9-16

Here at Easter Lutheran Church, our mission is “to grow in faith & carry on the work of Jesus Christ.” What does that mean?

Jesus spent his life helping the sick, hurting, and lonely and pointing others to God’s unending love. We want to continue that work. We want to serve our community, form meaningful relationships with each other, and live out God’s grace. Therefore, we seek to grow in faith, supported by practices like worship, study, and prayer. When our faith is supported and challenged in meaningful ways, we are filled up to go out into the world and do Jesus’ life-giving work in the world.

We believe that we are better together when we worship, pray, study, serve, and play together. A hope for Easter Lutheran Church is to be a place where all people feel invited, welcomed, safe, and loved – part of a healthy, thriving community grounded in Jesus; no longer strangers but rejoicing together in hope, grace, and love. We are committed to extending a warm, loving Christian welcome to each other, our partners, and our neighbors – both those we know and those we have yet to meet.

We’ve heard that many of you are so very ready to come together in fellowship after these long months – years! – of pandemic isolation. This is your invitation to experience some pre-pandemic fun and fellowship with a good, old fashioned get together at Easter by the Lake.

Join us for Spring Fling on Thursday, May 19th from 4:30-7:30 pm at Easter by the Lake.

We have much to celebrate! So we are throwing a party in the spirit of relationship and renewal. We’ll enjoy food, fellowship, and fun with others from Easter and our beloved community partners including Easter Preschool, TreeHouse, Homework Help by Reaching Up, Loaves & Fishes, and our friends from Iglesia Adventista del Septimo Dia who meet for worship every Saturday at Easter by the Lake. Everything is free and open to all. Come rejoice and celebrate with us!

We aren’t able to extend this Christian hospitality without the generous support and participation of many. Please consider taking a volunteer shift or contributing to the festivities. Sign up here:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/springflingateaster. Thank you!

Let us pray

God of rejoicing – Thank you for blessing us with each new day. Awaken in us a renewed commitment to live together as a joy-filled, faith-growing, life-changing community with Jesus as our cornerstone. Let our love be genuine and our hospitality remain rooted in the Spirit so we build a place of welcome where strangers become friends. Amen.
