The 40-foot shipping container sent to Tanzania by Global Health Ministries arrived in Dar Es Salaam at the end of May. The container was loaded with medical equipment for the Dodoma Christian Medical Center and 30 Mobility carts. Brighton Mkocha, a former Easter Scholarship recipient, has graduated and become a Christian lay leader in Tanzania. He is stepping up to be the leader of the distribution process and has set a goal to distribute carts not only to Iringa, but across Tanzania and neighboring countries in east Africa. Brighton informs us that ten of the carts in the current shipment are being assembled and will soon be given to people in Dar Es Salaam. The majority of the medical equipment and the remaining carts will be unloaded in Dodoma, the largest city in central Tanzania. Ten carts will be distributed in Dodoma and the remaining ten in Iringa. We praise God that the container arrived safely and that needy people will soon have the mobility they have never previously experienced.
In Tanzania, the disabled are often denied an education, sometimes even denied food and left to starve. With a PET cart, a disabled person can change their life completely due to mobility, with the ability to work, contribute to their family, and lead a fuller, more relevant life.
