Summary of the 2017 Guatemala Trip

Easter ambassadors traveled to Guatemala to serve and walk together with ILAG, our partner organization. They worked with ILAG and our partner church of El Salvador del Mundo to attend to facility repairs. This entailed some light-to-heavy labor. In addition, there was the opportunity to work with women from all over the country as they engaged in a retreat with empowering activities and learning sessions. Easter has participated in the retreat previously, and our relationships continue to deepen. We look forward to renewing our friendships in Guatemala each year. Please prayerfully consider joining us in this unique and life changing mission trip in the future.  Questions? Contact Pastor Steve Thomason at pastorsteve@easter.org or 651-452-3680. Easter partners with Iglesia Luterana Agustina De Guatemala (ILAG), made up predominantly of indigenous people on the margins of Guatemalan society with very few resources.

Easter is involved in the following projects:

  • El Divino Salvador de Mundo Lutheran Church of Guatemala. This is a very poor and struggling church in Guatemala City. Visits from Easter Lutheran ambassadors create a lively connection of prayer, support and mutual encouragement.
  • El Mirador School. Easter provides teacher and student support at this small elementary school.
  • Iglesia Luterana Agustina De Guatemala (ILAG). This church grows congregations in the poorest areas. Easter works with other congregation in the Saint Paul Area Synod to support leadership training and women’s ministry programs.
