Below are the currently-scheduled retreats:

Love for a Lifetime:  A Marriage Retreat

Friday, January 27, 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, January 28, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Easter by the Lake
Registration deadline Wednesday, January 25
Cost: $45 per couple, includes snacks and a light lunch on Saturday
Even for the happiest couples, marriage is hard. Successful couples don’t eliminate their differences; they learn to live with them, making forgiveness a constant part of their marriage. This retreat will bring together married and engaged couples from Easter to focus on the most common challenges every marriage faces – and to bring us back to God’s promise of love for a lifetime.

There will be a variety of presenters, including Easter clergy, on topics ranging from finances to fidelity. Some of the speakers for the weekend include:

  • Dan & Sara Currell presenting on the book, “Love and Respect” which they say helped to dramatically improve their understanding of conflict in their own relationship – how to resolve it, and how to prevent it.
  • Julia Holtze, a seasoned retreat leader and speaker presenting “For Better, For Worse” – how to survive and thrive through both the good and bad times of marriage.
  • Joe Bortscheller, a financial consultant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, presenting “From Me to We” a workshop encouraging healthy conversation around finances in marriage.

Women’s Retreat

February 4 and 5, 2012
Villa Maria Retreat Center, Frontenac, MN
The second annual Easter women’s retreat is now in the planning phase.  Come enjoy fellowship and reflection as we explore the topic “What on Earth am I Doing Here?”  Cost for this overnight retreat (including 3 meals) will be about $120 ($45 if not staying overnight).  The brochure has additional information.

Men’s Retreat at Telemark

Friday-Sunday, March 23-25, 2012, Telemark, Wisconsin, Cost:  $60
Men’s Retreats are a great way for men to meet other men and develop sustaining relationships and to grow in the faith. Easter’s minibus will leave Easter on the Hill at 6 p.m.Friday and men will return refreshed and strengthened Sunday by 5 p.m. There’s room for fifteen men; reservations are made by leaving a check (made out to Easter) in Pastor’s Paul’s mailbox.
