Hunger Ministries

Easter participates in several Hunger Ministries.

Serving Locally

Eagan Resource Center – www.eaganrc.org
Food donations and support are needed year-round. The Pantry, located at 3904 Cedar Grove Parkway in Eagan, is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.   To volunteer, contact volunteer@eaganrc.org.  To donate or  participate in the Easter food drive the 2nd Sunday of every month, contact serve@easter.org

Loaves and Fishes – www.LoavesAndFishes.org
Serve meals 6 times each year to those in need within the Twin Cities. Easter serves at Creekside Community Center in Bloomington and Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield. To volunteer, contact Barb Carlton at eaganbird@gmail.com or 651-452-7557.

Bread for the World – www.bread.org
Participate and/or volunteer to organize the Bread for the World offering of Letters each spring.

Fall Hunger Appeal
Each Thanksgiving, Easter conducts a Fall Hunger Appeal. To volunteer, contact hunger@easter.org.

Feed My Starving Children – www.fmsc.org
Groups locally package nutritious food that is sent to third world countries. Easter serves the second Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m.  To sign up online for a shift at Feed My Starving Children:

  • Go to: www.fmsc.org
  • Click on “Register to volunteer” (upper right corner)
  • Under the “Permanent Sites” box, click on “Register Online”
  • Click on “Join an existing Group or Family”
  • Under “Search for Group”, type Easter Lutheran as the group name, scroll down and click the “Search” button.
  • Click the red “Join” button to the right of the desired shift.
  • Click the “Confirm” button and then log in at next screen to identify yourself – OR – click on “Create an Account” to set yourself up in the FMSC computer.  As soon as you log in you receive onscreen AND immediate email messages, confirming your registration.  Then register any others you are bringing with you, and then LOG out.
  • All adults need to register. Youth names may be added once an adult is registered.
