Housing Ministries

Easter responds to local housing needs in several ways.

Helping Hands Ministry

Work on a minimum of 6 projects each year. Projects might include disaster clean-up, renovations or rebuilds, partner churches in the intercity that have housing needs, or working with Habitat for Humanity. Learn more about Helping Hands.  If interested, contact helpinghands@easter.org

CATCH Coalition for Affordable/Transitional Community Housing

Work with this ecumenical group to provide, develop, promote and maintain safe, clean, accessible, and affordable housing for people with low and limited incomes. CATCH also promotes education and advocacy on behalf of persons who are homeless. Contact: Robin Kieffer at rlkieffer@charter.net  2011 CATCH brochure

Dakota Woodlands

This is the only short term housing facility for homeless women, children and families in Dakota County. Guests are able to stay until they are ready to transition out. During this time, residents are provided with educational services and support, enabling them to address their issues related to homelessness. Annually, 89% of the residents move to safe, affordable housing. Contact: www.dakotawoodlands.org

MICAH South (Metro Interfaith Council on Affordable Housing)

Through MICAH, more than 150 congregations from Jewish, Christian and Muslim faith traditions organize for justice in housing. Contact: www.micah.org
