High School Milestones

Milestones celebrate a connection between significant life events (first job, driver’s license, graduation) and faith.

Easter hosts one Milestone event per grade to intentionally link students, parents, and faith conversation.

High school milestones include:

9th Grade Entry Into High School Lock-in – Hosted by upperclassmen for incoming freshmen, this event introduces you to Easter youth, welcomes you to high school ministry, gives you the secrets of YOUR school, and concludes with a breakfast where parents and youth can talk about dreams, worries, and expectations. This was held in October.

10th Grade Affirmation of Baptism – Upon completion of the Confirmation program, youth and their parents are honored at a dessert celebration before affirming their baptism in worship.

11th Grade Preparing for Post-high school – College Financial Planning seminars, the College Road Trip, and College Fairs are promoted to help youth (and their parents!) discover questions and answers about where God is leading them next.

12th Grade Graduate Recognition Breakfast - Graduates and their families share a breakfast together and are blessed at outdoor worship the first Sunday of June each year.

College Care Packages – Prepared by the congregation each fall, care packages of goodies are sent to all recent graduates. A reminder to young people that they always have a home and church family at Easter!
