Looking for ways to spend quality time with God in the midst of a busy life? During Lent, Chick Talk will be discussing the book “Sacred Rhythms: Arranging Our Lives for Spiritual Transformation” by Ruth Haley Barton. Based on gospel stories and spiritual practices of ancient Christians, we will look at such topics as longing for more, praying with Scripture, making space for God, finding God in everyday experiences, and cultivating your own sacred rhythms through the week—and having a little fun along the way. Local spiritual writer Julie McCarty will be on hand to facilitate our conversation.

FAQ’s:

      • Want to preview the sessions? Visit YouTube for this introduction
      • Which book do I buy?  The hardbound book is very good, but at CT we will be most focused on the participant’s guide and DVD. If you don’t any of these, come anyway and we’ll share.
      • What if I can’t make all the sessions? Other groups will also be discussing this program, or you can just come whenever you can make it.
      • What if I’ve never been to Chick Talk?  You are most welcome to come to whichever topics interest you. There’s no permanent commitment involved.
      • Can I bring a friend? My teenage daughter? My mother? Yes! All are welcome.

Jesus’ Radical Love for Women
Mondays: April 23, 30 and May 7
Thursdays: April 26, May 3 and 9
Leader: Rev. Bonnie Jensen
Bible study and group discussion on: 1) Women Disciples of Jesus. We hear about The Twelve and know their names. What about the women who followed Jesus? Let’s find out who they were! 2) Women’s Sexuality and “Proper” Role. What traditions and boundaries did Jesus break in healing and calling women, then and
now? 3) Women Apostles of Jesus. How did Jesus define the scope of his mission by the particular women who witnessed to their transformation? Has it happened to you?
